Mental Health Counselor Interns
We are seeking motivated and compassionate masters-level Mental Health Counsler students to join our clinic as interns. This internship provides an excellent opportunity for students to gain hands-on clinical experience in a community behavioral health setting. Interns will work with child, adolescent, and adult patients with complex psychopathologies. They will provide individual & family therapy, complete intake assessments, and have the opportunity to co-lead a group. In addition, interns will attend weekly didactics, a process group, an intake seminar, and individual & group supervision. All clinical activities will be supervised by a licensed therapist and additional administrative supervision and support will be provided as needed.

Qualifications
- Currently enrolled in an accredited masters level program in Mental Health Counseling (MHC).
- Rising 2nd year masters level students only.
- Experience with conducting individual therapy in a mental health setting a plus.
- Strong interest in community behavioral health and working with underserved populations.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills. -Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Must be able to engage in in-person and telehealth service.
- Provision: Required to attend internship on Monday, additional day(s) are flexible based on trainee schedule and school’s field placement requirements for hours/wk.
- Internship runs from September thru May coinciding with the student’s field placement calendars.
- Ability to comply with clinic policies and ethical guidelines, including contemporaneous documentation.
Responsibilities
- Provide individual, group, and family therapy for 6-10 patients of diverse backgrounds with a wide range of mental health concerns, including but not limited to anxiety, depression, trauma, and personality disorders.
- Participate in weekly group and individual supervision, didactic seminars, an intake seminar, and intern process group.
- Complete weekly intakes and rapid diagnostic assessments
- Engage in treatment planning for new and ongoing patients.
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, including psychiatrists, and other clinicians, to provide coordinated care.
- Maintain accurate, timely, and thorough documentation of patient progress, treatment plans, and assessments in compliance with agency policies and regulations.
- Ensure ethical and culturally competent practice, maintaining sensitivity to the diverse needs of the community we serve.
